The PGA Professional staff extends an invitation to all who love the game of golf to enjoy a memorable golfing experience at South Riding Golf Club. As a semi-private facility, we provide balanced golfing opportunities to our members and the general public. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where players — members, residents, and guests — will strive for their personal best on our championship golf course and relax within our warm, friendly clubhouse.
How can I reserve tee times and how far in advance can I make them?
You may visit or call the golf shop at 703.327.6660 to inquire about tee-times. Tee-times are available to the general public seven days in advance. Private members may make tee-times up to 14 days in advance. The professional staff will ask for your name, phone number, and credit card information to reserve the time(s). If there are any changes to your reservation (i.e. cancellation, number of golfers), we ask you to notify the professional staff as soon as possible. To cancel or make changes to your tee-time, please contact the golf shop at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any financial obligations.
When should we arrive for our tee-times?
We ask all players to arrive at South Riding Golf Club at least 30 minutes prior to your tee-time. When you enter the club, please register with the golf shop before checking-in with the starter. Each group is required to check-in with the starter 15 minutes prior to your tee-time for important course information. Please be aware that if you do not check-in with the starter 15 minutes before your tee-time, you run the risk of losing your tee-time. At that point the starter will do his best to accommodate your group at the next available time. If you are running late for your tee-time, contact the golf shop and we will inform the starter to help retain your position on the tee sheet.
What is the dress code at South Riding?
Keeping with the tradition of golf and for access to our golf club, we require all visitors to the club, course, and practice facilities to wear proper golf attire at all times. For men, all shirts must have sleeves and a collar; and for women, shirts must have either a collar or sleeves. Inappropriate attire for South Riding includes, but is not limited to, denim, cut-off shorts, running shorts, spandex, tank tops, halters, and tee shirts. If you are unsure of proper attire for our facility, please contact the golf shop at 703.327.3673. South Riding Golf Club is a non-metal, non-ceramic spike facility.
Are you allowed to walk or do you have to take a golf car?
South Riding Golf Club gives our guests the opportunity to enjoy golf in the manner in which it was intended…walking the course while taking in all of nature’s beauty. Our rates are the same if you would like to walk or ride in a golf car.
Can I use the practice range even if I am not playing golf today?
Whether you are playing or just want to practice, the range will be available whenever possible. The practice facility is available to members and the general public who adhere to our dress codes. Our practice facility consists of a large driving range with grass tees, short game area, practice bunker, and putting green. In the event of inclement weather we will attempt to have the range open using practice mats. There are times the range will be closed or unavailable due to weather, tournaments, or maintenance. Remember, just because the sun is out doesn’t mean the range will be open. Please contact the golf shop at 703.327.6660 to check the status of our practice facility, rates, and hours of operation.
